GIVING

The Bible is full of passages on the blessings gained through giving. In Acts 20:35, it says, “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” In Mark 12:41-44, Jesus tells the story of the widow who gave two coins even though it was all she had. He was commending her for the act of giving, showing the generosity that comes with selflessness. From these passages, we learn that giving brings about true joy and that we should not hesitate to be generous and help those in need when given the opportunity.
